Parish and congregation licences
1. If two or more congregations or "churches"
constitute a single legal entity as a parish and the total combined
attendance at your main weekly services, averaged across the whole
year, is less than 50, then a single annual copyright fee will apply.
In this case apply for a parish licence and state the names and
addresses of the individual congregations or "churches".
2. In all other cases each congregation
or "church" must buy its own copyright licence in order
to use these hymns.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The licensee may play the above hymns
in parish services and in one-off parish concerts under the following
conditions:
1. Fee: The one-off
copyright fee is paid in advance, and in full.
2. Change of address:
You must advise us of any change of address, including e-mail address.
3. Benefits
You break the law if you make photocopies
without permission of the copyright holders. The copyright fee entitles
you to:
- Make copies of the hymn-texts and
music for each parish service or one-off concert.
- Make overhead projector transparencies,
slides, or to utilize electronic storage and retrieval methods
for the visual projection of the hymn-text for each parish service
or one-off concert.
- Use the hymn-text and/or music of the
above hymns for other purposes to be agreed to by Godzone Hymns.
(i) For example, upon payment of
an additional fee, your congregation may obtain the MIDI files
of the accompaniment played on our website, for use only in your
own services or as rehearsal tapes, and not for sale.
(ii) For example, if congregations
wish to print the hymn-text and music of the above hymns for a bound
or unbound hymnbook they wish to compile, for their use only,
they may do so for a one-off fee, which is negotiable.
4. Conditions
- You may not give any copies of the
above hymns to members of other parishes or congregations, to
other organisations or to other individuals,
either as gifts or as samples.
- If you make or use any copies of
the hymn-texts and/or music, you must add to each copy the copyright
notations, relevant for that particular hymn, as set out in the
section of this licence headed "Details of Hymns: Copyright
Holders & Publication." For example, on all copies of
the hymn-text and music for "Anawim, all little things, praise",
use "Hymn-text © Jane Simpson (2000), music © Jane Simpson
with Peter Low (2000)".
- You may not make any recordings
of the hymn-text and/or music covered by this licence, except if
specifically authorised pursuant to clause 3 (c).
- The music files from www.godzonehymns.com
may not be copied or reproduced, without the permission of Godzone
hymns (see 3(c) above).
- The above hymns may not be amended,
either in the hymn-text or in the music as given. This includes adding
new verses to the sample first verse provided on the Godzone Hymns
website.
- We can immediately end this licence
if you breach any of your obligations. If we do end the licence,
you must then stop all use of the hymn-text and music and return
all copies of the hymn-texts and music to us within one month
of giving you notice that the licence is to end.
- This licence is governed by New
Zealand law and is enforceable in New Zealand courts.
5. Other uses
The
above hymns may not be performed in public places, recorded for
sale, or broadcast without securing the appropriate licence from
the copyright owners. Godzone Hymns is a member of the Australasian
Performing Rights Association (APRA) and its affiliates throughout
the world, who monitor public performances and collect all such
monies.
6. Rights of Godzone Hymns
Godzone Hymns has sole rights to publish
the above hymns and to make them available over the world wide web.
Other websites wishing to use them must first obtain the permission
of Godzone Hymns.
